Review: Let us just address the elephant in the room, shall we? Does this blush look like a cult product that we are all familiar of? Yes, it sure is. It is similar to Nars' Orgasm blush, only this one has a richer coral tone (which I actually prefer). If you read my previous review, Col-lab Makeup line is exclusively sold at Sally Beauty Stores and is a makeup line created by eight YouTube Beauty Influencers.
The blush does not come in any type of box packaging - just a plastic seal around the compact. The black edges and clear window design are very straight forward and practical, in my opinion. The clear window is an awkward shape and the blush pan inside is a square so my type A personality is thinking why just make the clear window into a square so it all fits in the window like it is supposed to. The difference in the shape of the clear window and the blush pan causes an odd look as the sides of the blush pan are showing - I cannot explain it but when you buy this product, you will know what I am talking about - but obviously not a deal breaker. The black edges have the same type of material as Nars' blush compacts.
I originally wanted to buy the shade Chatty (a peach/coral color) but they did not have a whole lot of blush selection in-store so I settled for the shade First Base which was a pinky-coral shade with gold reflects. I tried to avoid getting it because it reminds me of Nars' Orgasm blush (which I used to own - bought into the hype even though I did not really like it) but since it is not priced nearly as Nars blushes, what have I got to lose? When I opened the compact I was afraid it would not be pigmented or at least show up very light on my skin but enhance the gold reflects (that's what Nars Orgasm was on my cheeks - more glimmer, less blush pigmentation). Surprisingly, this has quite a bit of pigment with the right amount of gold reflects in it. It applies smoothly and evenly. It is easy to blend. It has a decent wear time - a solid 8hr work day. The powder is soft and smooth, a little kick up but it is a soft pressed powder so that is to be expected.
Would I repurchase? One of my issues with this makeup line is the price difference on the website and in-store. If they can fix that, I will be inclined to pick up another shade or two.
