Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray ($22, Gerard Cosmetics website)
According to the Gerard Cosmetics website, the Slay All Day Makeup Setting spray locks in your makeup look and gives a flawless for hours with our cooling, oil control mist that increases the look and longevity of your makeup. They now come in a mini or travel size ($16) that you can throw in your purse and keep your makeup looking flawless for hours. These comes in a variety of scents: Cucumber, Grapefruit, Green Tea, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon Grass and Peach.
I heard about this product from What Would Lizzy Do (WWLD) on YouTube during its first launch around spring 2016. The Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray has been my HG (holy grail) for years now but it is a little expensive so I decided to try this one in Peach (photo above shows a recent purchase from a few months ago, Cucumber and Grapefruit in a travel size). At first I was skeptical about the scents but WWLD's review was really helpful. The price point is decent, plus Gerard always has sales and you can use discount codes to get it for a lower price so that is a bonus. The packaging is a simple frosted plastic bottle with a spray nozzle. Now, when I first bought the Peach one, I was not happy with the spray nozzle so I transferred it to one of my empty UD Setting Spray bottles. Problem solved. Now, as far as the quality, it did set my makeup really nice and it is very long-wearing. The peach scent is now over-powering which is something that I appreciate since I am very sensitive to many smells and fragrances.
My recent purchase a few months ago (pictured above), I noticed that they changed the spray nozzle. It actually sprays like a fine mist not a splash on your face. So I was very happy about that. The cucumber was a nice fresh scent, similar to an old scent from Bath & Body Works, Cucumber Melon, without the melon part. If you are sensitive to scents or fragrances, I would be cautious in purchasing this. However, for myself, I chose scents that were more fruity as those usually work for me. Remember, they now offer a travel size for this product, so if you are curious about the scents and its performance, it is a good way to try out this setting spray.
